Understanding this crisis, Rahul, along with Vinit Moreshwar Phadnis,
co-founded BoreCharger under Urdhvam Environmental Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Their

The BoreCharger system is a patented rainwater harvesting

method channels it underground, replenishing depleted aquifers. Unlike
conventional methods that take years to show results, BoreCharger increases

Since its inception, BoreCharger has made a significant
impact. The technology has been implemented in over 3,500 locations across 12
Indian states and even in Benin, West Africa. The success of this initiative

Technologies, focuses on comprehensive water solutions. From groundwater
mapping and watershed implementation to rooftop rainwater harvesting and
stormwater management, Urdhvam provides a holistic approach to water
conservation. Their work ensures long-term sustainability, preventing future
water crises.
A Strong Foundation in Hydrogeology
Rahul’s deep understanding of hydrogeology and water
management comes from years of hands-on experience. Before starting Urdhvam, he
worked as Director of Grants & Programmes at Arghyam, a nonprofit working
on participatory groundwater management. His experience in geological mapping,
hydrogeological assessments, and aquifer studies has been instrumental in
shaping effective water conservation strategies.
Partnerships for Water Security
To amplify the impact, Urdhvam collaborates with
corporations, NGOs, and government agencies on large-scale water conservation
projects. Some of their key collaborations include groundwater mapping for
Lavasa Corporation, JSW Steel CSR, and ITC Ltd, as well as water audits for
Vishay Components and Tasty Bites in Pune. By working with diverse
