Biography of Riddhi Doshi:
Riddhi Doshi’s journey into the world of psychology and
personal development began with a deep understanding of the complexities of
human emotions and relationships. Growing up in a supportive environment, she
was inspired to help others navigate their mental and emotional challenges.
This passion led her to pursue various qualifications, including a diploma in
Dance Movement Therapy from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, where she
learned to blend creative expression with therapeutic practices.
The Art of Dance Movement Therapy
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) became a pivotal part of
Riddhi’s professional life. This unique form of therapy uses movement to facilitate
emotional expression and stress relief. Riddhi recognized that DMT promotes not
only physical well-being through improved strength and coordination but also
mental health by enhancing self-awareness and self-esteem. She aimed to make
this therapy accessible to all, believing that movement could help individuals
find balance between their physical and mental states.
A Commitment to Education
In addition to her work in therapy, Riddhi also pursued a
diploma in Training Skills from City & Guilds in the UK. This education
equipped her with the tools to effectively teach and guide others. She became
dedicated to training corporate leaders, educators, and parents on issues
related to mental health, recognizing the profound impact that knowledgeable
guidance could have on individuals and communities.
Leading the Charge
By June 2023, Riddhi had taken on various roles that
highlighted her commitment to mental health and empowerment. As a Core Team
Lead at the Agrim Agarwal Foundation and a mentor for startups at CHARUSAT
Innovative Ventures Foundation, she focused on mental health initiatives for
entrepreneurs. Riddhi understood that the pressures of starting a business
could take a toll on mental well-being, and she wanted to support those
navigating these challenges.
Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
In February 2023, Riddhi became a founding member of the Consortium of Empowered Women Entrepreneurs. This initiative was designed to uplift and empower women in business, helping them find their voices in a predominantly male-dominated environment. Riddhi’s vision was clear: she wanted to create a community where women could share their experiences, seek advice, and collaborate on their entrepreneurial journeys.
Supporting Young Adults
Riddhi also took on the role of Mental Health Counselor at
Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science. Here, she worked
with young adults to help them clarify their life goals and maintain their
mental and emotional health. By guiding students through their challenges, she
aimed to foster a supportive environment that encouraged growth and resilience.
Founding LAJA
In December 2017, Riddhi founded LAJA, a forum dedicated to
empowering women. Frustrated by how women often diminished their own needs and
aspirations while juggling multiple responsibilities, she launched this
initiative to help women overcome their inhibitions. LAJA focused on
discussions about personal growth, relationships, and mental health, creating a
safe space for women to express themselves and share their struggles.

The Mission of LAJA
LAJA was built on the belief that every woman has the
potential to be powerful and confident. The forum aimed to encourage women to
explore their identities, express repressed feelings, and engage in
conversations that mattered to them. Riddhi’s motto for LAJA, “Be the light
unto yourself,” encapsulated her vision of helping women recognize and harness
their inner strengths.
Early Challenges and Growth
Initially, Riddhi faced challenges in garnering interest for
LAJA. Many women were skeptical about the need for yet another forum. However,
as they began to participate, they realized LAJA was different. It wasn’t just
a casual gathering; it was a space for meaningful discussions on mental health,
entrepreneurship, and personal empowerment. Over time, the forum grew in
popularity and significance.
Transformative Conversations
As LAJA evolved, conversations among the participants
shifted from everyday concerns to deeper topics such as mental peace,
relationships, and personal ambitions. Women found solace in sharing their
experiences and realized they were not alone in their struggles. Each gathering
left them with insights that inspired action in their personal lives, fostering
a sense of community and empowerment.
The First Conclave
In 2017, LAJA hosted its inaugural conclave, named TATVA –
Empowering Women, at IIT Powai. This landmark event brought together women
entrepreneurs, mentors, and influencers to share stories of growth and success.
The conclave provided a platform for networking and collaboration, reinforcing
the idea that women could support each other in their journeys.
