Early Foundations in Design
Rohan Nanavati’s journey into the world of design began at G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from 2000 to 2005. His college years were marked by active participation in various activities, including the Youth Festival Group and the I-Maze Organizing Team. These early experiences in organizing and creative collaboration laid a strong foundation for his future career in design.
Advanced Education in Graphic Design
Rohan continued his education at the Savannah College of Art and Design, earning a Master’s degree in Graphic Design between 2006 and 2008. During this time, he was deeply involved in the AIGA Student Group (GRID) and the AIGA Atlanta Chapter, and even founded the Uni Intercultural Club. His work during this period was notable, including winning the AIDS Walk Atlanta Team Identity award, being a finalist for the ING Marathon Poster, and being selected for a poster exhibition at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA).
Founding Roar Studios
In June 2009, Rohan established Roar Studios in Surat, Gujarat, India. As the Founder and Principal Designer, he focused on art direction and design across a variety of domains including brand development, identity design, web design (UI/UX), and packaging design. From October 2021 to February 2023, Rohan worked as a Design Lead for E2 Cloud Solutions, where he focused on user experience research and designing enterprise UX flows on Figma. He played a crucial role in developing design standards, applying brand guidelines to interfaces, and coordinating with the design team to enhance the user experience for enterprise-level products.
Teaching and Academic Contributions
Rohan’s commitment to design extended into academia when he joined AURO University in April 2017 as an Associate Professor of Communication Design.
