Born on September 20, 1943, in Bombay, British India (now Mumbai), Hussain Dawood comes from a Memon family background. His father, Seth Ahmed Dawood, was a businessman who relocated the family to Karachi during the partition of India in 1947. Dawood pursued his education in metallurgy at Sheffield University, graduating in 1966. He furthered his studies at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, where he earned an MBA in 1968, laying the foundation for his successful career in business and leadership.
